violets and caponata-like pepperiness inflecting gamey red fruits
St Andrews during the Victorian Bushfires
yet the palate is delicate
Mixture of years
Imagining aromas and flavours that don't exist can be frustrating - but it's the winemaking equivalent of a melody forming in a songwriter's brain
Chateau Brane Cantenac, 2ème Cru G.C.C, 1855 Margaux 2021 Size::6 Bottle Case violets and caponata-like pepperiness inflectingDeep purple colour. Very complex nose revealing aromas of black fruits, toast, vanilla, and floral and fresh notes. In the palate the wine is supple and round, the tannic structure is fine and silky, and the finish persists with a very pleasant aromatic back palate. A wine dense, fleshy with a remarkable depth and a perfect balance: refine and powerful tannins. Probably one of the greatest vintages of those two last years. Long ageing potential.
